Fun and Easy Christmas Craft for All Ages

Whether you are hosting a holiday girls night (or boys night) or you have restless little ones that need a project, I have the craft for you. When my son was in Mrs. Dodson’s second grade class, he brought home a beautiful ornaments for me for Christmas. His was orange and white, of course, because we live in the middle of Big Orange Country and well that was his favorite color. He was so proud of it, and I’ve treasured it ever since. Every year, I would pull it out and say that this would be the year that we would finally make some more. My son is now a freshman in college. Sadly, it has taken me until this season to get about the business of making them.

You will need clear plastic ornament balls (available at Michaels), craft paint in squeeze bottles and at least one empty egg crate for drying. On the first go around, I used some leftover paint that was not in a squeeze bottle and it was a mess!! Remember, make this EASY.

Take a clear ball and remove the cap. Set aside cap and save.

Squirt a little bit of paint into the ball. I like mixing in white because it softens the colors and adds depth. Use a paper towel to cover the opening so paint doesn’t get everywhere. Swirl and shake ball until desired effect is achieved.

Place in egg carton and allow excess paint to drain out. Leave out with the top off for 24 hours so paint can dry.

After you have allowed the paint to dry, put cap back on the ornament. Now you can put them on your tree, display them in a bowl and offer them to drop in visitors, attach them to packages with ribbon or simply give them as gifts.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season! Thanks so much for reading.

XO,

Anne
