March Favorites-Spring Refresh
My March favorites are all about getting your house ready for spring. With Easter, Mother’s Day, Graduation and Wedding/Baby shower season upon us, there is no time like the present for a little refresh around the house.
Danika Herrick’s Collection For Spoonflower
Danika Herrick would describe her style as if “Palm Beach and New England got hitched and had a Chinoiserie Baby.” I recently discovered her work on Spoonflower.com. Spoonflower is a website where artists can sell there designs to the public in the form of wallpaper, fabric or even wrapping paper. The site itself can be very overwhelming and is not all geared to the home decor market. However, when I stumbled upon Danika’s collection, a whole new world of possibility opened up for me and my clients. Danika’s designs are not only beautiful, they can be custom colored and the scale can be changed depending on the look you are after. Working with her has been a fun and enjoyable experience. I have been able to create custom textiles and wallpaper that are gorgeous and reasonably priced! I had to share her work with you. Visit her shop on Spoonflower.com - you won’t be disappointed.
The gorgeous wallpaper above and below are from Danika Herrick’s collection for Spoonflower.com
Buffet Lamp Round-Up
It’s no secret that I love lighting. It adds personality in so many ways to your home. Today, I am going to share with you several of my favorite buffet lamp options. Buffet lamps are usually tall (32”-36”) and generally don’t take up much real estate on your table. These are a few that I am crushing on right now.
Scalloped Pique Coverlet & Shams
I love the crispness of white pique bedding. It’s even better with a scalloped edge. It’s at home in a master bedroom as well as a child’s nursery. Pique bedding is a classic that never gets old.
I am smitten with these sweet little globe sconces for the bath or powder room. They come in three sizes and three colors. Their globes are opaque - so they provide excellent light without the glare. Yes - they have a scallop detail as well…I can’t help myself.
Ballard Designs Dayna Chair
The Dayna Chair is a favorite for several reasons. I know it’s been around for a while, but every time I use it in a project, I am reminded how versatile this little chair is. It comes in two heights, with or without arms, and in five colors. The seat is easily removed and recovered if desired. The price is very reasonable for such a comfortable workhorse. I have used them in my home for years and have never heard of anyone that regrets purchasing this chair.
The Ghost Chair
The above image from Christian Ladd Interiors is the inspiration for my final “favorite” this month. In looking for the perfect desk chair for a client’s daughter’s room, I came across this image. I set out on a quest to find an acrylic chair that would be reasonably priced, but good quality since it would be living with a young girl. I was thrilled to find the Riverstone Furniture Ghost Chair from Target.com. At 149.99 and free shipping it is a steal. Mother and daughter are both thrilled with the find! Can’t wait to see it in the room with a custom cushion.
I hope my March favorites have inspired you to do a little spring zhushing around your house. Thanks so much for reading!
